Robert Lewis Reid

(1862 - 1929)

Born in Stockbridge, MA, Reid studied at the Academie Julian and exhibited and won prizes throughout the United States.  He was a founding member of the Ten American Painters.  Spent summers painting in Normandy in the 1880's.  He was commissioned to decorate one of the eight entrance pavilion domes at the Chicago Worlds Fair.  He was an outstanding muralist and continued to receive major commissions during his career.
